The book offered a little insight into the politics in the Middle East. For an American in a foreign country and for a Queen, I think, she has done marvellously. However, I kept wondering if she would have written the book like this if she had written it for a Jordanian audience. It seemed clear that the book was meant for an international, more specifically, American audience. And, if that is who she was writing for, is her take on Middle East politics enough? Has she done justice to the subject?
I took out the book from the library hoping to learn a lot. I wish it had taught me a little more.
But I suppose striking a perfect balance between personal history and political history of the region in an autobiography is almost impossible!”
“Part love story, part political commentary, part auto biography. A classy lady with interesting insight/perspective on politics in the Middle East.”

American girl marries Middle Eastern King. But, there's more! She tells the story of what really happened in the Middle East during the 70's and 80's and how hard her husband (King Hussein of Jordan) worked to keep the peace. Really opened my eyes!”

She converted to Islam and had several children with him and mothered his other, older children. A romantic story, but told with concern for diplomacy. It drags after awhile, but Queen Noor's perspective makes this topic more accessible than a less personal account might be.”
