I checked the audio book out of the library recently and was won over right away. The story is set in the future, where interplanetary travel is a...” see full review » see other reviews » |
Didn’t Like It1 of 1 members found this review helpful“I think I was just too old to read this book. The message was good, however I did not like the way it was written. I am sure someone in their teens or 20s would like and appreciate the writing style and the "moral of the story."” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Title: Feed
Author: MT Anderson
Summary: This book was set in the future where people could travel to the moon and mars on vacation. People now have access to the internet simply through their brains. Anything they think creates a search and brings up links that coinside with those thoughts. Need new clothes, bam advertisements for exactly the style clothes you like to wear. You can chat with your friends through your thoughts or put up a blocker. Only problem is when hackers hack its personal not just on the net, it affects your thoughts.

“The coolest audiobook ever. Futuristic, but not too much in the future as to be unrecognizable, world where everyone has a feed in their heads which constantly gives updated, information and commercials tailored specifically to his or her needs. Thought provoking and very unique presentation makes this a got to listen to book.”

Not only the way the characters spoke, but also the constant garbage that spewed from them. I stopped reading this book before I was done with the first chapter.”

It draws interesting parallels in our current word, and makes you consider how things could end up in the future. It was a book that kept me thinking about it long after I was finished with it. I highly recommend it.”

For example farmers start growing meat by lines in the ground that provide slabs of meat with blood. Some things I don’t like are that the language in the book is very basic. It was an interesting idea at first that since the feeds do everything for the people with them, the english language is dissolving. However I quickly got sick of having to actually stop and think about what the characters were saying because of how simplified it was. i also disliked how Cliché the ending was. im not going to ruin it but its exactly what i expected.”
