Another book that changed me by opening my eyes to the inadvertant waste caused by athletics in America, especially in the African American community. ALthough more than a decade old, this book is still relevant and shows how African American youth is often squandered on athletics when the chances of ultimate success are so slim. Only studies by Harry Edwards of black-gloved fame in the 1968 Olympics has done more.
