“Difficult reading, because of so many particulars (people, places, events) - but if you persevere and perhaps just read for the concepts very worthwhile and hopeful account of an important struggle to find efficacious ways to support our fellow men worldwide.”

Novogratz has a brilliant mind and a good heart but I felt her writing kept me at arms length. Such a powerful story should have pulled the reader right in. I'm disappointed that it didn't.”

She ultimately ends in "social venturing" (term?).
The Rwandan trajedy is shared and heartfelt - she explores many facets of the personalities and people in this simple to read book.
What a great story and one from which we can all learn. The trick is that we need to apply ourselves - not just read!!! There's a lot of ways to participate. Read the book.”
“This book is just an astonishing experience for the reader. It will inspire you to be better. It will educate you on what it means to be a compassionate leader and develop the moral imagination to make real change happen. It will horrify you when you read about the inhumanity that lies in each of us. But then it will offer hope by shining a light on the good that humanity is capable. Please read this book!”
