    666 Cypress Ave...

In a deteriorating building, in the South Bronx, where the elevator is out of commission, the building's doors are broken and there is a rat infestation, reside thirteen tenants at 666 Cypress Ave. All these residents have something in common; they have bitter hatred toward one another. From the drug dealer, the nosy old woman, the crack addicted woman, the cop, the UPS man, the nerd, the bully and many others, tempers are about to rise and leave these tenants forever changed.

Like a wolf in sheep's clothing, the new tenant, Raven Thorn, arrives. She befriends each and every one of the people in the building; well that is except for one, Crystal. Raven is beautiful in every sense of the word, seemingly having a kind heart to go with her beauty and also highly intelligent.

Things begin to go terribly wrong at 666 Cypress Ave. People are starting to act strange and the most bizarre and horrifying events begin to transpire that are leaving people dead.

LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR by Dwayne Murray, Sr. has got to be the best novel I have read thus far in 2009. This book had me engrossed from the very first page all the way to the last. Mr. Murray is a masterful storyteller, telling the story of each one of these tenants, still keeping the story suspenseful and intriguing. Action-packed throughout, reading LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR was like Urban Lit mixed in with some Stephen King. This book is sure to NOT disappoint.

Raven comes to Steal, Kill and Destroy

Its official, Author Dwayne Murray Sr. has become one of my favorites. With this third novel Dwayne has brought his A++ game and more. I eagerly await his next novel and wonder how he is going to top “Like a good neighbor.” This book is so good I just wonder when we are going to see this on the big screen. I wonder what Dwayne was thinking when he wrote book. I know I will never cross him or make him angry, read the book you will understand why.

"Like a good neighbor" starts of running and never looks back. From the opening chapter I was hooked. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and needless to say Dwayne keeps bringing the fire. Its starts out in Chicago and then we come to the Bronx , NYC. 666 Cypress Ave. to be exact. If the address alone doesn’t give you a clue what to expect I don’t know what will. Not to mention there are thirteen tenants in this building another clue for the superstitious out there. I’m not going to tell much of the book except to explain my caption. When the new tenant Raven moves into apt 7B she befriends everyone except the local crack head Crystal Bright.

Raven has a hidden agenda she comes to Steal everyone’s joy
Raven comes to kill all hopes and dreams
Lastly, she comes to destroys families and lives.

The most astonishing thing about this is she does it with words alone. I had to take look around me and wonder could this really happen? Words are very powerful so don’t miss what it is that Raven is saying to make all lose their minds.

    Bad Lady!

Talking about rat infested, deteriorating building, broke down elevators, smelly hallways, and drama filled tenants. That's the usual average life at 666 Cypress Avenue. Evil comes lurking in from a unexpected place and she's called Raven Thorn. With a sinister smile, drop dead gorgeous body, and a sweet personality, who seems to be a faithful, trustworthy, and loyal friend, but only a crack addicted tenant across the hall name Crystal Bright see's what lurks behind that sinister smile, is a new tenant from hell.

When Raven moves into her new apartment, she befriends each and every tenant and in return they welcome her with open arms, but underneath Raven's exterior lies a deadly killer, a woman who believes in worshipping a god she only knows, and murdering anyone she befriends. There's alot of drama at Crypress Avenue, but they need not worry, Raven will take care of them. She is their faithful, loving, and caring friend and there's no greater reward than helping her friends and just maybe a friend like Raven will literally end their drama and misery for good.

Like A Good Neighbor opened up crazy. The suspense was incredible and the events that happened was shocking. I found myself screaming, cringing, and shaking my head through the entire book. The drama was non-stop from each word-sentence-paragraph-page-to every chapter. I have never read a book that had so much drama, but was an excellent thriller at the same time which kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages. The book does and excellent job of illustrating the insight of how one can be so evil, but if one pay close attention there's also some good morals that the characters display. The character development was on point and tight and I can honestly say this reads like a movie. The suspense was incredible and the conclusion.....well u just have to read it to find out. So sit back, strap in, and enjoy the tenants of 666 Cypress Avenue.
