  “this book is a real eye opener. in it, he shows the complete hypocrisy of the american government's foreign policy, and the failure of neoliberal policies to bring any sort of improvement in the conditions of the masses in the countries they are imposed on, such as the latin american countries.
  what really startled me was the evidence he procured showing that changes from socialist regimes (democratically elected) to the capitalist ones forced down the throats of the people actually resulted in a drop off of the quality of life for the poor. the only real improvement was in the amount of power the ruling class exercised over those poor people.
  however, some conservative pundits claim that many of the things Chomsky says are either made up or greatly exaggerated, and ive decided to look up these claims individually to verify their truth.”

  “If you already like Communism then you'll like this book. If you don't like neoliberalism then you'll like... most of this book.
  
  I appreciate Chomsky's negative arguments more than his positive ones. He rips apart neoliberalism and touts Communism but I read this after Fences and Windows by Naomi Klein, and I was positioned by that to doubt Communism as the alternative to neoliberalism. Both are centralised power that are susceptible to corruption.

  “Chomsky on globalization makes for good reading, but I wish some of the chapters, which were articles previously printed elsewhere, were rewritten just slightly to make the book flow a little bit better from chapter to chapter.”
