“Great book and not just for women. As a guy, I can also relate to the story of being left when you least expect it-- plus I appreciate the strong cast of male as well as female characters.”

Great book for any woman who's been left or had to start over in the middle of life's journey. See also Open House by Elizabeth Berg. Popular fiction with a literary quality.”

The one thing that drove me crazy was that Eve's mother kept getting called different names in the book, i.e., Mrs. Dunrea, Mom, Mother, Charlotte. I wish it was more consistent. ”

It brought together a lot of threads regarding family, marriage, true happiness, finding and making space for oneself, friendship and community. I thought it worked a lot like a web, and by the end the web had become a much more beautiful and complex thing. Good for readers who like books like "Open House" by Elizabeth Berg. Funny/sad, I'd say.”

Liz Rosenberg has a way of drawing the reader in, like a moth to a flame. Her characters are instantly recognizable and the reader can relate to all of them on some level. There are many layers to this book and I only wish it was another 328 pages. I look forward to the next masterpiece by Liz Rosenberg.”
