This is an excellent book for anyone who recently lost a loved one. I keep extra copies to give away just in case. It can bring you a lot of peace in this time of terrible hardship.

Inspiring, spiritual, moving, comforting. An amazing account of an afterlife experiencxe. I read this book probably close to 20 years ago. I have bought several copies but always felt the need to give it away. I don't even think I have a copy now. It was the first for me of many books along this line, but there were not that many like this that I was aware of at that time. I would recommend this book to someone who needs hope or inspiration or someone who is on a soul search. I don't particularly like when people of certain faiths with strong belief systems try to argue with me over a spiritual book like this and compare it to the bible and then try to save me for believing and being moved by a spiritual book. So...(ahhh) over the years, I have learned not to recommend books like this to everyone. 90-minutes in Heaven was a similar type book which I enjoyed also.

I have heard of this book from my peers when I was still in the University and my mom mentioned this once to us in the family but I just did not pay attention. One of my friends gave this book to me since I am dealing now with homebound patients. When I was reading it, my peers' and my mom's stories refreshed my memory. I said to myself, "these were the stories that I am reading now". It's inspiring and made me reflect more of our earhtly life and the eternal life. But what caught my attention was the philosophical-theological meaning and language that the Author experienced in her near-death experience. It is an affirmation of our life that is unseparable to the whole creation and the Creator itself, journying together in this world towards the eternal life. I finished reading this book with some open-ended questions that I am still seeking for more explainations especially from the author. I wish to be in touch with her someday -- that's one of my dreams.

I read this after Ray died and after my dad died. It really helped me both times. I can almost see the experience Betty had and I think she was telling the honest truth about her life after death journey. It confirms what I already know to be true. That life goes on and we live after this earth life is over. It gives tremendous comfort to the grieving heart. I loved it.

My mother gives an effusive blurb on the back of this book.

I think that what it relates is the real deal.

    (And it's pretty darn cool.)

Changed the way I think I'm quite sure in a positive way.

I recommend it for anyone questioning life after death. Reassuring.

This book really helped me to understand death and dying in a way that was not an end to everything but moving on to another place. If this is true or not, I will only know when my time comes. However, as an ICU nurse for many years, I saw so much pain, sorrow, and death. I feel that this book helped me accept the inevitable better and put into a different perspective.
