“Loving it! ”

Yes | No“The mythology continues to be very intriguing, the complexity of the plot with its twists and turns are fascinating and I enjoy the characters. However, sometimes I feel the writing is lack the power of the elements. However, I do enjoy reading the series and with the outrageous cliffhanger Ms. Day left us with, I will certainly be looking for the follow-up novel.”

Yes | No“Evangeline Hollis has now completed her training and has achieved full Mark status, which means she is kept very busy with new demon hunting assignments. Only lately the assignments are coming at her at a much faster rate. Satan has put a bounty on her head and every demon within range is coming after Eve. Eve ran over Sammael’s (Satan’s) hell hound and now he is out for revenge. At least that is what Eve thinks.
The Archangel Raguel is being held captive in Hell awaiting rescue from the 6 remaining Archangels and the new Archangel, Cain. Cain was elevated to Archangel when Raguel disappeared and is now running the North American firm. Only something isn’t quite right with Cain, he can’t seem to keep the voices in his head or his anger in check. With Cain out of commission, trying to figure out wrong with him, Abel steps in to comfort and/or court Evangeline.
Evangeline, Reed (Abel) & Alec (Cain) share a three way mental connection which can come in handy but is mostly a pain! At least they are figuring out how to shut each other out. Eve has on and off relationships with both brothers and if they were inside her head the whole time that could be a serious problem. But the connection comes in handy when Eve is in trouble, which is a lot!
Amidst Eve dodging attacks and bargaining with Sammael, Alec (Cain) struggling with his problems within and Reed (Abel) playing the political front with the Archangels, one more little problem is thrown their way. Adam and Eve (the original one) decide to come for a visit. Adam and Eve are most revered and that puts a very large target on their backs. The 3 have to protect them while dealing with all of their pre-existing problems. And surely, dating brothers would present an awkward situation when you have to meet their parents!
I have thoroughly enjoyed these books over the past 3 months. I can now say this is one of my favorite series’. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it is the play on the whole Cain & Abel story. It is different than what I have been reading in the fact that the main characters are not Vampires or Werewolves. (although there are some vamps and weres sprinkled in.) Maybe it is the way the Archangels are depicted as ruthless business men and women. Maybe it is the multiple layers of problems the characters have to deal with. You can feel their tension as they try to work together but have underlying animosity towards one another. Perhaps it is all of these things wrapped up in one nice little package.
Whatever the reason for my liking this series, I recommend it to anyone who enjoys urban fantasy or paranormal romance. This last installment was my favorite. I had trouble putting the book down, and there is a little cliffhanger at the end to which I will have to sit and wonder about until Ms. Day puts out another Marked book. Which I am looking forward too!”
