“The first story of the Coleman/Thornton family. This story is the 1st of the Kentucky trilogy series. Josh Coleman was going to put Emmie up for adoption when Nealy was very sick; when she was 17, so she with the help of her brother Pyne helped her get away. Josh Coleman left behind unfinished family business when he took to his deathbed at SunStar, the thoroughbred horse farm he'd built from nothing. But now that unfinished business cannot be ignored--because his long-lost daughter has come back to settle an old score.
Nealy Coleman no longer resembles the tennaged waif who slipped away in the middle of the night with her illegitimate daughter, sophisticated, and renowned in the racing world--a woaman to be reckoned with.
Nealy's shocking return will change everything for her two brothers, Pyne and Rhy; for her daugher, Emmie; and for all the Thorntons and Colmans, who have strong connections with SunStar. And when the truth about her father and family's trobles past is revealed, Nealy will find herself faced with the greatest challenges of her life--challenges that will test her courage in unexpected ways and reveal what is truly important.

“I would read the next two books of this triligy..”

She returned to her home when her father was on his deathbed only to find out that he was not in fact her father but she was bought along with her brothers.
Nealy grew to womanhood on a large and prosperous horse ranch. She has become famous for her racing and ranching skills
Okay but I thought it moved slowly.”
“I read this book for our Library Book Club otherwise it probably isn't a book I would have normally chosen. Interesting read, develops plot and characters and then jumps in time. First of trilogy books, be warned this book leaves you "hanging" and wanting to find out if and how matters get resolved. ”
