Not what I expected. Bland. A few interesting details about his creative process, but nothing inspiring/you couldn't find on wikipedia. lots about transcendental meditation, but no specifics. Even the fact that I am mildly obsessed with Lynch couldn't force me to write a positive review.

Laid out like Chicken Soup for the Meditating Filmmaker's Soul, but it creeps up funny like a Lynch film and is in the end both practical and inspiring. i really liked it. READ FEB 08'

I could hear David Lynch talking as I read this book, especially as a number of sections seem to be transcriptions of his spoken words. Having heard him on DVD it all makes sense to me, but I'm not sure how it comes across to someone who's not familiar with his unique style of speaking. With the audio version you get to hear Lynch himself. I'm a big fan of Lynch's movies, his art, his philosophy and approach to creativity, so this is high on my list of favorites.

I found the book to inspire some creativity in my thought process, but otherwise I found it to be rather boring. I found it to be more of a memoir of the author's experience.

Filmmaker David Lynch talks about Transcendental Meditation and how it both increases peace of mind and helps facilitate the creative process. Some interesting bits of insider info on the various projects he's worked on over the years. And the author's proceeds go to fund a program that brings TM into schools.
