Humanity is progressed so far it has not only gone beyond the earth it has forgotten the very location of the solar system we started from - but that is a concern only in the last part, and until then there are more mundane concerns. Such as relocating a small cell of humanity to the farthest end of the galaxy so humanity and its scientific progress continue unhindered, and then there is the mule to defeat in spite of his abilites to control minds, and then there is the suspicion of a second...
