    Hand's narrative is, I think, a post-modern examination of the text as presented by Eggers, or, more appropriately, his alter ego. I honestly think it could fit anywhere within the context of the narrative. Although mildly entertaining, I find it the least entertaining part of the entire novel. Though, I should add, that a friend of mine found it to be the most entertaining part of the book.
