The story deals with memories of a Spanish lecturer during his two year teaching in Oxford and his love affair with a married Englishwoman. I have enjoyed reading about his point of view about Oxford. He betrays the Oxfordian achademic world as: "Oxford is, without a doubt, one of the cities in the world where least work gets done, where simply being is far more important than doing or even acting."
