"A Sound of Thunder & Other Stories" is a collection of Ray Bradbury short stories published between 1943 and 1956. Originally published as "The Golden Apples of the Sun", the collection features 32 of Bradbury's best short stories. I read "A Sound Of Thunder" at school many years ago but I have always remembered it as one of the great sci-fi tales of all times. Ray Bradburys stories have a timeless appeal.

I give it a 3.5/5. Cause i really think its not that good. and it probably will get alittle bit better. Well, when i read it. I got glued to the first 17 pages. It was really good in the beginning. but, then it got boring in the middle. Then at the end it got alittle bit better. But i still give it a 3.5/5 stars.

" We don't want to change the Future. We don't belong here in the past." These are the words Eckels should have listened to. Eckels was looking for a adventure. He saw the sign" Times Safari, INC. Safaris to any year in the past. You name the animal. We take you there. You shoot it." He went for it, without realizing what he was getting into.He wanted to go back to kill the Tyrannosaurus Rex. In order to do this he had to listen to every word the Safari leader spoke. He couldn't shoot, touch, or spit without the Safari leader's approval. If he did it could alternate the present. I would recommend this to readers who like books with suspense and twisted endings. The way this story ends will make you want to buy another one of his remarkable books. His books make you think. What I got of this story is what you do today can have huge affects in the future.

"He heard Travis shift his rifle, click the safety catch and raise the weapon. There was the sound of thunder".
This is a very confusing line in the story "Sound of Thunder".
This story takes place in the late 2050's in the United States. It is about a man named Eckels who wants to go back in time and kill a T-Rex.
This is a very well written science fiction story by award winning author, Ray Bradbury. It is full of suspense and has an extremely good theme of what e do today can effect our world tomorrow.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give this story a 4. It's a very good story but it isn't the best. I would recommend this story to people older than 12 years old because it can be a bit confusing.
Some things that could have made this story better would be more humor and more horror. With these the story would be like the movie "Jurassic Park" or like the show "Terra Nova". This story would be fantastic for people who are interested in dinosaurs, time travel, or science fiction.
One part I really like about this story is its suspense. This story is like a roller coaster; not knowing what's going to happen next and then all of a sudden it hits you. In conclusion, this is a very good story that I would gladly recommend.

the story A Sound of Thunder was the best of Ray Bradbury. I give it 5 starts. it was an excellent story; I could read it all night.
In the story a guy named Eckels wants to hunt and kill a dinosaur, a T-Rex, and what happens is that... well you will have to read it to find out. this book also has a great theme too. To me it was "that technology can in pack lives in many ways.
Ray Bradbury has also written lots of other books, like the pedestrian, all summer in a day, the fly machine, and many more.

A Sound of Thunder By: Ray Bradbury

    "Time, Safari, Inc.
Safaris to any year in the past.
    You name the animal
    We take you there
    You shoot it"
This is how the past got all mass up. Eckels was a man who lived for his ego. He want to Time Safari, inc. just to kill a Tyrannosaurus' Rex. In the past. Eckels went with four men named Travis, Lesperance, Billinas, and Kramar. I can tell you this: Eckels did not plan for this to happen. Like they say "every little thing you do effect the choices tomorrow." But for Eckels he really was not thinking at all. He just want to kill the dinosaur and get his ego up. I can say I really like this story. I would give it 3 star. I mean its not great and its not bad. I wish I can tell you the end but I dont want to give it away!

This story was a good story one because it was written by Ray Bradbury who always writes good books and it had dinosaurs and time traveling, which are two of my favorite things. But this book is more than time traveling and dinosaurs. It makes you think what would happen if you were to go back into time and mess up one little thing...what would the outcome be?
