“This book was a quick read and somewhat interesting but not enough of story or climax for me to feel it was a great book.”

Oh, and Jane Austen plays a part in the story but you don't have to know her writing to enjoy it, I've never got further than a paragraph in an Austen novel - all I know of her stories is through TV and film adaptations :)”

The story is cute, and by the end, you wish the Formidable really did exist so there could be some answers as to why so many of Jane's letters are missing. This book made me interested to find a book of Austen's letters. The ending is interesting...not exactly predictable for an Austen tale.”

Interesting ideas about Jane Austen Secret Societies, but the rest of it was just blah. I don't think the Adam character was necessary, even for for Emma's catharsis. I think Shannon Hale's "Austenland" was much better if you want to read a story about a woman whose obsession with all things Austen has muddled her mind and love life.”
