Didn’t Like It2 of 2 members found this review helpful“This is Chick-Lit at its most, ummm…obnoxious…I really wish that I could say that I liked this book, but reading it was like pulling teeth. All of the characters act like they are in high school, and this author has some sort of professor fetish since all romantic objects either past, present or...” see full review » see other reviews » |

Well done.”
“ugh! Melodramatic romance at its worst. The ending is a surprise no one except the protagonist.”

My most serious complaint is that this could have been a much more interesting book - it needed more. More action, more conflict, more something.
Jane Austen ruined the protagonist's life? Well, not really. But we aren't going to explore very much of that at all. And when the main character decides how she thinks and why that has hurt relationships, we aren't goint to explore that very much either. And the ending leaves you wondering WTF - it isn't that you don't like the ending, it is that it is super abrupt and feels incomplete.
I realize all of this sounds more dislike than neutral but those are my issue with the book. I enjoyed some of the characters and the idea of the life Austen had that modern readers don't know about because it wasn't recorded.”
“This book is good so can't wait to read more”
