Heavier than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain

by Charles R. Cross

This is the first in-depth biography of the troubled genius Kurt Cobain. Based on exclusive access to Cobains unpublished diaries, more than 400 interviews, four years of research, and a wealth of documentation, Heavier Than Heaven traces Cobains life from his early days in a double-wide trailer outside of Aberdeen, Washington, to his rise to fame, fortune, and the adulation of a generation. I loved this book becuase it was a biography of someones real life, so as you become closer to Kurt Cobain you begin to have so many different emotions about the way he lived his life and the effects of his decisions. I liked this book because it was very real and straight to the point and as a musician i have always been impressed with him so hearing what was behind all of his music gives listening to certain songs a completely different meaning because i could understand his struggles,...

God knows why I even bought this one. Pretty much anybody with a self0conscious love of rock music went out and got this when it was published and , having read it, are wondering what to do with it. Looks pretty on a bookshelf, but I couldn't give a toss about its self-destructive subject matter. Did more for Charles R. Cross than it did for the legacy of Cobaine and Nirvana.

Well, I finished it and I have to say that all the while I knew how it was going to end I kept thinking I was going to here that w/ his success he found some kind of happiness. Of course he didn't really. After so many of these drug induced suicidial Rock Star biographies I have loved reading it has made me evaluate my life and what was going on w/ ME during these years. I've kind of figured some things out and am now feeling the need to read something lighter, uplifting not so intense. Any recommendations??

Great Book A must Read Something that will make You feel the soul of Kurt Cobain and make you feel all that have happened to him in his life what lead him to what he did and what he did not. Great captured life of a public icon in the web of words that makes you understand his life like if its your own.
