The Thief Lord has to be one of my all time favorite books. It has a wonderful air of magic to it, especially since it takes place in the wonderful city of Venice. I could totally connect to at least one or more of the characters.

I started reading this to my fourth graders and didn't finish it before the end of the school year. So, I'm working on finishing it up on my own. Someone compared it to Harry Potter and at first I didn't see it because it starts off pretty realistically. Obviously, that changes and it becomes pretty fantastic. It's not just a kid's book. I enjoyed learning something about the city of Venice.

I don't think it's just you. I also have only gotten through half of Inkheart and I've started it twice. It just kind of gets stuck in places and I have a hard time restarting.
