“This story takes place in Maycomb, Alabama and is told during the time of The Depression. Atticus Finch, a lawyer, agrees to defend Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a young white woman. During the trial, Atticus presents much evidents proving Tom's innocence, but even with such evidence, the racist jury convicts him.
This book is a controverial book because of the content and language used. I think this book can be used to show the detriments of racism within a society. After reading this book, I will conduct a group discussion where we will discuss the negatives impact racism has on our society today.”
