Soon Joe's conflicting emotions begin to mirror... (read more)

this book was very well written. i cannot begin to tell you how good this book was. i started to read it and i could not put it down. when i first saw this book i new i wanted to read it. i would give this book two thumbs up and five stars(*****). i would recomend this book to anyone who likes a good story. candy is about a boy named joey who runs into a girl named candy and at first it was a simple crush but that quickly progressed into a serious thing. soon joe figures out that candy's world is not as he thought it was he realizes that she lives in a world of gangs, drugs, sex, and pimps. if you want to know what happens to them then you need to read Candy.

I found this book very interesting. Kevin Brooks does a good job on shinning the light on the darker less heard of side of life. He does a good job describing the effects of heroin. Candy was a book that was easy to get into and is very interesting. The characters are very realistic and for all i know this story could be true. Has strong language and I agree that only 14 year olds and up should read it.

I enjoyed this book very much.

This book is written more simply than those I usually read, so it went WAY more quickly than I wanted it to. Good story, a little cliche, but I still really enjoyed it and was really sad when it was through. Next, more Brooks!

Lovely book. Haven't read many books with the English slang and such, so this was refreshing.

It started off slow, and I almost didn't want to read it, but stuck with it anyhow. Candy, as someone before me said, did speed up, and was very exciting, I thought. I've never read anything quite like it.

Both of the main characters, Candy and Joe seemed very realistic and believable, and I grew pretty attached to both of them.

The ending frustrated me a some, but nothing ends perfectly. Definitely a favorite, though.
