“Dickens is always wonderful, and he definitely shines in this relatively short story. So many memorably quotations, and of course, incredible use of language! A favorite that I would read with my father every year since childhood. ”

“Perfect timing to end the book - Christmas Day. I've seen so many versions of this story on stage and screen, but I don't remember ever actually reading the classic short novel. Reading the story, rather than viewing the movie or play or the story, was different for me, because it allows you to experience a personal reflection and comparison of your own life that other presentations don't always provide. The story is also a portrait of life in the late 1800's, which I found fascinating. If I've ever read Dickens before, I don't recall, but I'll add his other writings to my reading list. ”

“What can you say about a story you know by heart before you can even read the words. Interesting how it touched on the Christmas spirit without being very religious. The end result is the same: generousity, kind-heartedness, and love for your fellow man. The world would be a much better place if we all made the a Scrooge-like change.”
