“I pack a lot of recreational reading in during breaks from work, especially when I'm traveling over the holidays. Sometimes I pick up a book while scurrying through the airport hastening to meet a plane. That's what happened in this case. It kept me occupied on a couple of reasonably long flights and layovers in the airport. And it hooked me enough on the interesting characters to have me plan on reading the next book in the series. A bit too much muck and gore for my ideal book. But there you go.”

The writing is a bit immature, or maybe over serious is a better description. But the author certainly has done his research. I will definitely read the next book in the series. hopefully he spends a little less time on his thinly developed characters and more time on the creepy fairytale world of otherness.”

Technology starts to fail, magic begins to rule, and humans learn that they are no longer on top of the food chain. At it's core, the story is your standard group-of-unlikely-heroes-thrown-together-on-a-quest-to-save-the-land story, but the setting makes it much more entertaining that the stereotypical D&D style adventure story.”
