At the end of the Gospel of Luke, two disciples of Jesus (including one whom tradition has named Cleopas) leave Jerusalem for Emmaus with heavy hearts, not yet knowing of Jesus' resurrection, when a stranger approaches, travels with them along that road, and asks them what they are talking about.
