I love the hero of this novel! He has his weaknesses and he fights against them. He's Wounded. The writing is also great, the historical setting wonderful. It is perhaps a bit unfortunate the the heroine behaves like a brat a lot of the time. I think the novel would have worked better if she at least sort of realized this in the end and apologized or something, but Kinsale, quite to the contrary, makes the hero do the apologizing! That annoyed me quite a bit. Still, a very enjoyable read.
