This novel was very dark I felt, with the plot being completely ridden with war. The hero, Angus Moy, is not the typical HR knight in shining armor. He is worldy, educated and tries his best to keep himself and those he holds dear to him as far away from war as possible. Anne, is much more the hero in this story as she takes up arms against for the rightful Scotland monarch against the English and in doing so also takes up arms against her husband. John MacGillivray leads forces alngside...
