“Reuben Land, 11 years old, has a brother who is on the run for murder, a father who makes miracles and a kid sister writing epic poems. Reminds me of "Little Britches" from long ago. Set in the early 60's, there's lots of excitement and nostalgia.”

“Some of this book was so delightedly beautiful I just loved it—particularly the way the author discusses faith and miracles and wound those plot threads into the story. I loved the characters and the family relationships. A few parts seemed really odd and out of place, especially towards the ending. Instead of the action/tension building and building to a final climax, things fizzled for me at the end. Overall, a beautiful voice, compelling story and interesting characters.”

“Excellent! Part Western, part coming of age story, part family saga, part allegory... and it does all of them really well. The narrator and his family were very endearing, the symbolism was rich, and the writing was beautiful. I very much enjoyed it. ”

“This book was suggested to me to read over the summer. I'm really glad I did. It is filled with unexpected surprises and page turners. I think the Author did a good job with this book, because it was one of the easiest books for me to visualize. ”
