Oates has once again captured the deepest, most hidden emotions of her protagonist. Here, it is the teenaged boy Darren Flynn's insecurities. I enjoyed this one a lot more than the last of her books that I read ("The Barrens"), and I found its ending more triumphant too. A wonderful read for young adults (and adults as well)!

The Book looked interesting from the cover ,and seemed like an exciting fun book to read. When i stared to read it wasnt really what i expected.It also wasnt that innteresting.It was more in the slow not fast pased part.Over la it was a good read.
