I think Olivia Goldsmith's best books are the result of her telling the stories of several woman in alternating chapters within the same book. This book was different in that Goldsmith stuck with one character and the people with whom she interacted, but the main focus was on just one person. While the tidbits and information about the fashion industry were interesting, neither that nor the main character storyline were enough to keep this book moving. I could have put it down and left it down at any point in the story. I did, however, finish it, and I'm not sorry I did, but in my opinion, Goldsmith has written far better than this one.
