This book was boring but it had some type of sentimental lesson. PAtience is key and things don't always go you're way. This book is about an old man who has no luck catching any fish. One day he goes out and he snags a huge one and after several days he catches it. then sharks eat it. This book was long and boring made little sense but taught two huge lessons. i recommend this book to you if you enjoy reading boring books .

Yes I know it is a classic. I hated this book. Took me forever to read. Yes I know I missed the point.

I gotta go with Maggie May's review.
Yes, I know its a classic, but is it a classic simply for who wrote it? Did anyone question this novel or the author or was it simply a diseasse of "Star Struck" that pivoted this book to classic category. I felt Hemmingway wrote a story that should have taken 4 pages instead of an entire short novel. I felt the author rambled on and on and on. It seemed to me he was a person that loved to hear himself talk and gloried in his amazing gift of thought and writing. In reality, if someone (other than a famouse person) rambled on like that he would soon find himself very alone and not well thought of.
