Last Man Standing has the essential elements of a terrific DavidBaldacci novel: a tough but tender-hearted hero, dirty dealings in the nation'sbureaucracy, and a roller-coaster plot. David Baldacci is good for Washington DC mysteries. Most of his books are wrapped around CIA, FBI, or Secret Service. I enjoy the books - they have lots of twists and turns...

Over the top violence from the beginning...couldn't read it.

I got a sense of "didn't I read this already" at several points in the book. At first I thought maybe it's just that this has been done before, but I had that so often and then I just started knowing what was going to happen so I knew I'd read it before, but forgotten. (It was at least 3 years ago, and read as much as I do, you loose track.)

It was a good read, not a great read, but enough to grab my interest twice. Some of the details are harsh and gritty and there are many interesting plot lines intertwining that might make you miss "obvious" details. But it also can be a bit predictable and, to me, left many questions unaswered.

This was another outstanding Baldacci thriller that had the requisite twists and turns. I especially liked it that he didn't tie up every loose end.

This is one of my favorites by baldacci! It is action-packed, about a member of the charlie team from HURT (a fbi-bombsquad-like organization)who survives a devastating attack, leaving him the sole survivor, because of a pecuilar paralysis spell. Interesting read, a smidge of smut, but if you know baldacci, he doesn't write the fluffy smut, just the raw, humanized, sex scenes. in this novel, they are not a really big part at all. not a romance novel.

As much as I love all the Camel Club books, I disliked this one. Baldacci's a competent writer so I kept on reading, the mystery was pretty good, but I really couldn't care less about the main character - hard to love a book if that happens. Valerie Horton

Oh My Word. I keep checking his sight to see if he's going to write a sequel to this one. Awesome!
