Riveting with suspense and innumerable twists. Nothing's revealed until the end. Great!

Baldacci is a terrific author. His books are so inticate and detailed. This one happens to be about murder and mayhem in the computer industry that links to the financial markets. Excellent characters.

The story was good - it kept me guessing until the end. However, the multiple "near-misses" at the end got to be a little too much.

What I love most about Baldacci's writing is done best in Total Control. He creates believable characters and situations and twists them just a little - enough to be scary and exciting. What's best is the fact that what puts you on the edge of your seat is typically something mundane, something you've done a number of times and not thought twice about. Stepped out of a store onto a sidewalk and almost bumped into someone lately? Saved an email to your desktop? It's a simple as that: you're hooked into a web of intrigue and suspense that is believable and captivating - wait'll you find out who-done-it.

Total Control was a page turner alright, but it seemed to be an unnecessarily long page turner. Sub plots could have been better. The middle was a bit extraneous. The book could have easily shed a 150 pages. Overall idea was excellent, but a few plot holes and poor characterisation of female protagonist were a let down. The final 50 pages is where the pace really picks up.

    An average read.

Not as good as the Winner or Absolute Power, but still a page turner.

This book lacks the power of Baldacci's previous works with a plot that is paper thin once you think about it, this is a good book but nowhere near his best.
