Reading Response: Character Analysis

The main character, Carly, is a very spiritual, old style type of individual who believes that she is different from all the gorgeous, spoiled girls who only care about what they wear and what they get. She even believes that she is different, and should stay different from her little sister, Anna since everyone is jealous of her beauty that Carly doesn't have. Carly slowly breaks the strong relationship with Anna since she gets all the attention in high school. I think that Carly tries too hard to be different than all the rich girls in her school. She gets jealous of her sister and all the other pretty girls in school, but tries to be completely different, not caring what she wears and dressing to impress no one. When she meets Cole, she puts everything aside, including Anna, just to be different since Cole appreciated that, both having similar intrest. I predict that later in the story, Carly will express all her feelings to Anna, about how much she's jealous, and both will work it out, fixing their relationship.

The best written moment in the book in my opinion, is when there was a party at Carly and Anna's house, because through it all, it made both of them realize who they love and brought them closer as sisters at the end. I think this book is great because I can relate to this book in a similar way with me and my older sister, how we do have fights and sometimes have a negative emotion towards each other, but at the end we will always love each other and come to a meeting point where we can stop fighting. I will always remember this book from the lesson I learned in it, that sisters can fight, but you should always be there for them even in tough times.”
