“The conclusion of the Circle Trilogy, White wraps up the adventures of dual-world traveler Thomas Hunter. I don't think it's unfair to identify this trilogy as fairly allegorical of the Biblical gospel accounts, and with that said, one criticism lies in that the character depicting Jesus is portrayed as one who contends with very human worries, concerns, and overall apprehension that his plan will be thwarted. The book itself is imaginative and engaging to the point that I could not enjoy anything else until I had finished, but again, if you're looking for a sci-fi/fantasy analogue to the Bible, White diverges from a faithful allegorical retelling of Jesus as an immutable redeemer. Read White, read the gospels, appreciate what Dekker has done in this creative trilogy; but, also realize that the suspense of the story comes at the cost of truly representing core scriptural teachings regarding the omnipotence of the Trinity.”
