“I loved how God was portrayed as a little boy who loves and likes to play. Why not? God created us in His image and we like to play.”
“After all, we're living in a dream land. Dekker is using his imagination well.”
“when i started the book it was boring, i could not understand why tom was drifting between two worlds. Its a big tax managing crisis in the two world”
“Allegory? Is there some sort of allegorical parallel in this novel?”
“definitely an allegory. great series! loved all three books...”
“Most definitely an allegory. This entire series changed my viewpoint on God's love and sacrifice.”
“Thanks! I've picked up on a lot of allegorical pieces that parallel the Bible, Christ, God's love, etc. I just wasn't sure if Dekker had a specific story/theme in mind with which he was using the book to parallel. I'm nearly done with Black and am looking forward to the other two books!”
“Yes. It isn't meant to be a 100% perfect allegory, but you can pretty much parallel it to the Old and New Testaments - start at the Garden of Eden and working its way to the 2nd coming. In order to fully grasp this, however, you have to also read "Red" and "White".”
