Maddie Jones is a True-Crime-writer and now she is writing a book on her mothers murder which took place when she was five. She returns to Truly, Idaho to gather information. There she runs into Mick Hennessy, who's dad had a love affair with her mother... and who's mom shot her, her husband and herself. Like Alice Jones before her, Maddie start falling for the Hennessy charm.

Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite romance authors - the other one being Susan Elizabeth Phillips - and I always enjoy reading one of her books. They're a fun and easy read, which I enjoy to wind down.

'Tangled Up In You' is the third part in a mini series about for writers, and in my opinion it is the nicest one so far. It is well written, but of course it doesn't have the poetry flow of, say, a book by L.M. Montgomery.

Thinks I didn't like where that the three main characters are named Mick, Maddie and Meg and it happened a few times that I mixed up the female characters and got confused. Mick and Maddie is okay (and at least the third one wasn't called Meggie), but I think one name with a different first letter would have been beneficial.

Also, there is this huge time jump toward the end of the book and while nothing developed between the main characters during that time (because... duh before the happy ending they need to break up at least once) and it is used as a device to portrait Maddie's depression and hurt I would have liked a little something more there.

Third and last, I don't believe Maddie wrote the book in what? 6 months? Maybe it was only the first draft?

All in all this romance novel gets

Maddie thinks she's strong, but she's a woman like another: she fall in love too! Mick is the hot guy, the one everybody fall in love, the one everybody think will never fall in love. But then Maddie appears in his life and many things can change. And his past can come back - the part he tried to cover for around 29 years.
    Loved the story.

Eh. Couldn't get into it for some reason. Not as good as Gibson's other novels.

Super funny, loved the cat and thought it was great! Lots of funny parts too. Definitely won't be afraid to read more of her books.

    Series enjoyed..
addie Dupree interviews serial killers for a living, yet somehow walking into Mort's Bar in Truly, Idaho, scares her. She has come back to the small town to write a personal true-crime book. Her mother was the other woman when she was killed in Truly, leaving Maddie in the care of an eccentric aunt. The owner of the bar is the son of the philandering husband and his wife. Mick Hennessy now owns his family's bars and believes that the past is just that. The fact that his mother killed his father and the waitress, as he and everyone else in town calls Maddie's mother, and then herself is better forgotten. But now this darn author is in town stirring up old memories and Mick's libido. The feelings are mutual, but will they last after Mick finds out who Maddie really is? Gibson will sustain her popularity with this witty, fiery romance filled with interesting and dynamic characters connected to Sex, Lies and Online Dating (2006) and I'm in No Mood for Love (2006).

I really enjoyed this book, it was good to be back in Truly and catch up with old characters like Nick and Delaney, and also great to meet Maddie and Mick, two sexy people who share masses of chemistry. This book is funny, sexy and touching. A great read.

Maddie, a successful crime story writer arrives at Truly, Idaho to write her new story about a crime that took place more than 20 years ago.
This scandal that shook the little city of Truly was re-surfaced and not many people are happy to hear that Maddie was putting it down on paper especially Mick!
Maddie will not stop until she uncovers the truth of these murders no matter how irresistible Mick was!
This is my first attempt on a little black dress book and let me tell you I am quite impressed with Rachel Gibson, the story was mainly a love story however she managed to swiftly incorporate a mystery twist to it and making it a funny and witty.
