He bellowed, "I had forgotten how Ludlum's dialogue is overamped all the time!" "International cartel comprised of super rich evil guys tries to take over the world!" "Brilliant and beautiful woman helps our hero save the day!" :-)

It's been a while since I've read Ludlum (this was his last book before his death in 2001), and although it was a reasonably entertaining book, the characters are way too capable and clever for their own good.
