Smart and funny. New age with an edge. I'd love to be friends with Kimmi.

Reminded me of The Fifth Goddess - a woman in her 30's living in New York trying to understand her own insecurities and failed relationships by trying something spiritual. I liked the integration of the tarot archetypes, but the self-deprecating humor did not appeal to me. Didn't realize until the end that it was autobiographical - kudos to the author for bravely sharing quite personal details of her life. But I neither laughed nor cried - just not my style of book.

Wonderful storytelling that sneaks up on you. Auerbach is candid, funny and a truth-teller of the highest order. You'll laugh throughout, and probably cry a bit, too. (I wept all the way through the acknowledgments, but I'll admit to being rather an extreme case.)

I love Kimberlee's book even more than her one-woman show which spawned it. It's perfect reading for anyone who has ever been searching for his/her place or questioned why life and experience is how it is. ANd no, you don't have to be all California crunchy new-agey (says the non-crunchy, non-new-agey San Franciscan!) to enjoy it. Nor do you have to be female (says the guy). Just pick it up, and you won't be able to put it down.
