“I was very excited to get ahold of this as e-books really aren't my thing. I like to hold it in my hands! The smell of the paper and ink, the feel of the pages under my hands, the shiny pretty cover up close and personal... Okay, you get the idea. I like BOOKS.
All of the stories were very good, but my favorite would have to be "Captured" by Lori Devoti. Ever wonder what happened to Venge's mother? This is your chance to find out!
Following in a close second would have to be "Mate of the Wolf" by Karen Whiddon. Everything I've read by Karen is very good, so you should definitely check her out. This is her first romance with vampires, I believe, but it was worth the wait! I loved the interspecies tension. Can't wait to hear more from the vampires.
Gosh, I think I could rant about all the stories, but maybe I shouldn't. *grins* Michele Hauf's was naturally amazing. I've been wanting to read her Bewitching the Dark series for a long time, but my TBR stack keeps getting the best of me. "Racing the Moon" bumped the series a bit closer to the top.
"Broken Souls" by Bonnie Vanak (which really is in this anthology no matter what this site says) was a very suspenseful story with beautiful characters. I loved Baylor to death! He brought the whole story to life.
"Mahina's Storm" wasn't my favorite, for sure, but it introduced the Necropolis world very well, I think. Anyway, Anna Vivi's other books will certainly be on my "eye out" list.
"Dreamcatcher" was probably my least favorite of the bunch, I think mostly because I didn't quite get the ending, but still pretty good. Very sweet-suspenseful.
To end all, must say, I can't wait to see the second anthology, Awakening the Beast!”
