coellho has a way of writing that makes you refuse to put the book down, but after finishing the story, i was a bit disappointed - there was no hope presented in teh end, not even a glimmer of it. all the characters seem to have lost big time, with no possibility of redemption... too late even for regrets.... sad.

Thrilling. Enticing. Suspenseful. It is a big evolution of Coelho's style since it modernizes ideologies.

Igor is a cold hearted supersmart killer and insane to boot. His wife leaves him for another man.Igor believes that by killing people randomly at the Cannes festival he shall be sending secret messages to his estranged ex-wife Ewa.Of course she hasn't a clue what's going on.The majority of this book is really a social comentary on how we are today with our superclass and the way we are being set up by those at the top to believe that those who have "made it" ie.the models and stars are living enviable lives.I have been given much food for thought about my own personal beliefs. It is not for nothing that Paulo Coelho has a reputation for changing lives. He has a tendency to bring into the light all those things that we avoid noticing, even the uncomfortable ones.
