A novel about the futility of any attempt to make a dream come true and to achieve freedom in society. The ending is sad, as it tells us that the closest you'll ever get to your dream is through the vision of it before dying. However the book is really worth reading.

I don't really know why so many people don't like the way John Steinbeck writes. The books are written this way because thats the way people were back then. These books by Steinbeck are timeless classics. I don't know how you can't like them. This was a good story of true friendship, and how these two men would go to great lengths to look after and protect eachother.

Heartbreaking. Steinbeck shines a light into the darkest areas of the human soul, illuminating things we'd rather not see.

Of Mice and Men was the perfect portrayal of "the American Dream". It's a story of two grown men just trying to fulfill their dream in the worst period of time in American history. It was a very sad book!!
