I can't wait for the next one about Camille though since she is my favorite for sure :)” see full review » see other reviews » |

Their latest assignment is to root out the secret society responsible for unleashing chaos magic against the city—and to stop a demon from devouring Delilah’s soul.”

This book is Menolly's continuation of her storyline. She was turned into a vampire 12 years ago, so don't be standing by her bed when she just wakes up or you might not live to regret it.
There's a pretty graphic lesbian sex scene near the beginnng that might cause discomfort for some. Menolly those I guess would be considered bi-sexual because she later has sex with the incubus Roz.
The sisters find out that there's a frat house run by FBH (full blood humans) where girls have gone missing near. Then they figure out that these boys not only have been raping, torturing and filming the girls they capture but have been sacrificing them and opened up a demon gate.
Set in the Seattle area, so if you're a local you can see if there are any local areas described in the book. ”
“Menolly and her sisters are cleaning out the rooms over the Wayfarer bar that Menolly now owns and she discovers some clothes and diary of an elfin woman from Otherworld. Menolly works together with Chase Johnson head of the Faerie-Human CSI crime unit to find out what happened to her and also to solve some other disappearances of other supes in town. Delilah gets attacked by some large black blob type demony thing that starts sucking the life force from her. Camille, Menolly and the guys manage to get it off of their sister but have her locked in a magical safe room at the bar to keep the thing from attacking her again until they find out what it is and how to kill it. The girls also meet their new neighbor Martin who is a necromancer. The gang finally trace all the disappearances back to a frat house where the members have been making sacrifices and worshiping the demon Shadow Wing (who wants to bring about the end of both the human world Earthside and Otherworld. They also discover not only the bodies of the missing supes but one of the frat alumni who can do powerful death magic and made a portal to the astral plane and summoned a creature that was centuries old, the black blob, demony thing. The kill him and the black blob, and he had the next spirit seal around his neck. So the girls took that too for safe keeping and reported it all to the queens of Otherworld. Menolly is also becoming romantically involved with Nerissa, a werepuma, along with the incubus Rozurial, and she's attracked to the demon Vanzir too. Plus Wade kicked her out of the Vampire's Anonymous group because her reputation would hurt him in running for office.
I am really liking this series... it keeps getting better and more interesting with each book. Definetly a good read.”
“great like the preceding books”

I think it's almost inevitable for a series that switches between characters to inspire readers to pick a favorite. Menolly, I'm sad to say is not my favorite, but this book made me forget that. Menolly is a compelling, sympathetic character, one whose trials and tribulations keep the reader rooting for her till the end - even though we haven't reached the end yet. And there's always the interesting fact that I can't think of another bisexual half human/half Fae vampire in any other paranormal series. Being that unique definitely separates you from the pack.

“I really love the D'Artigo sisters, and honestly at first I wasn't a huge fan of Menolly, but after the last book I love her, and this one made me love her even more! I think she's now my favorite, she's really come into her own. And she's moving on in her life, she's accepting being a vampire and I love it. And **spoiler alert** She finally let those braids out! YAY!”

I strongly recommend you read these books in order. So much is carried over from one book to the next and by reading them in order, you will see the characters grow and the how the new ones fit into the lives of these three sisters. This one stars Menolly, the vampire of the D'Artigo sisters. Menolly is so much more than a vampire, she is also half Fae and half human. The D'Artigo sisters are operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency and are important to the war being waged against Shadow Wing. Menolly finds a diary in one of the upstairs rooms of the Wayfarer Bar that she runs and it peaks her curiosity about the writer. In the course of trying to find out more about the author of the diary, Menolly finds that a lot of young women have gone missing in a certain part of town. A lot of the women have been Fae and this becomes even more involved when a big nasty demon is summoned by a bunch of frat boys gone bad and it starts feeding on the Fae. The D'Artigo sisters must band together with all of their lovers, friends and allies to fight this demon and bring about the down fall of the Frat Boys that are really a front for a demon worshiping club and find out how the missing women, the demon and the Frat Boys all fit together in this mess. A well written, fast paced book. Ms. Galenorn never fails to delver and this one has the meaty story, the continuation of series and the great erotica. A must read for all of Ms. Galenorn fans!”

I think I enjoy her character the most since even tho she has her hang-ups from her turning, she is no nonsense, tends to be blunt, and can kick some serious booty. In this one, they have found a cult of humans who are opening portals to the astral plane and letting nasty stuff out which have found Delilah very tasty. Lots of butt kicking going on plus we dive a bit more into Menolly's personal life as she is finally learning to let people close to her again. In all, a very fun book.”
