“I think that this book will ultimately be a classic. Rinella did an excellent job of sticking to the subject-buffalo! He didn't paint a history of the West through the life of a buffalo, he simply told us about the buffalo. Well written and full of knowledge. This guy actually lives what he writes about. Well done!”

A strange mixture of language volleying from the poetic to the coarse.”

I knew of Rinella's writing from Men's Journal and Outside Magazine. He has a wonderful way of writing that makes you feel he is across the table from you and he's paying for the beer.
The book is many things all done well. It's educational, it's high adventure, it's history and it's personal. It will appeal to everyone from the die-hard hunter to the most vocal tree-hugger. The book is an easy read because its so well done. I look forward to more of Rinella's books. I think you will as well.

This is a really good book for people of all ages. You can literally feel the cold Alaska air, and the rush of adrenaline as steven takes the shot. This is easily a 5 out of 5 in my book. For anyone that wants to read it should, you won't be disappointed.
