Learning about the horror of Andersonville Prison was also very interesting. Including historical characters like Clara Barton enhanced the second half of the book. Unfortunately, the main character was rather wishy-washy and her owners a bit stereotypical.”

There was a constant battle in her head about whether she sounded too white or too black and how she was treated differently for being "yellow brown".”
