A very impacting and accurate account of a Holocaust survivor, but in a form that is appropriate for youth to understand and handle.

An amazing, true tale rendered in expressive ink. An exploration of self as well as heritage and history. The book is one-of-a-kind, a shining example of the graphic novel's potential. It's emotional, adventurous, and fantastic in scope. The survival at the heart is an astounding success against ludicrous odds. Extremely memorable and an unquestionable classic.

I own it, got it as a present for my birthday, but haven't read it all the way through yet. It's on my to-read list.

Incredibly moving. I read this for a narrative course; I never dreamed that a graphic novel could be so emotional.
