Both Zoe and Lucien were sympathetic characters whom I like very much. The dialogue and banter between these two was witty and downright funny at times. On several occasions I just couldn't help laughing out loud especially when Zoe spoke her mind about unconventional topics. The reactions of her sisters were a hoot! There was a strong connection between the h/h that went back to their childhood that was buried during Zoe's absence but never broken. This made their relationship after her return much more believable.
The last part of the book that dealt with the staff revenge didn't work that well for me. I don't think it added a lot to the story that couldn't have been accomplished in a different way. I would have liked to see more of the Duke and Duchess' married lives and how Marchmount realized that he was in love and Zoe reacclimated to English society. ”
