“Simone the local vampire mechanic, always distant and aloof from the groupies in the compound finds herself attracted to bad boy human Braddock. His hard as nails persona takes a nose dive as he becomes Mr. Softy around Simone and her daughter. Wait I know it sounds so "ahhhh.." well it's not. There are big secrets each of them are hiding, and someone else too and they are dangerous ones. You fellow reader and I know secrets always come back and bite hard. Some folks will lose their lives. Good things happen too, wishes are realized, lives are revitalized and rewritten and a dream is made that causes joy to so many.
it was an enjoyable read, a bit darker than the first 4 books in the series. The coming together of the stories and the people to make this new community is wonderful to watch.”

Over my Dead Body by Michele Bardsley, Broken Heart Vampire book five.
The main character's in this book are Glory and Simone. When Glory and Simone moved to Broken Heart, Oklahoma it seemed the perfect place to be. Glory's ex-husband had gone after trying to murder her daughter Simone, it was where the now mute Glory felt safe. Glory had been mute since her ex-husband attempted murdering Simone.Simone is hiding some secrets, big secrets. Simone has developed feelings for Braddock Hayes, he turns her legs to jelly just by looking at her. Braddock is helping to build an Invi-Shield around Broken Heart to protect it and all who live there. Braddock is also helping Glory speak again. Simone's past rears its ugly head again....Will it spoil things with Braddock?
Firstly I am not into girly slushy romances but these books combine a touch of that with layers of wit and humour. You pick up the book and before you know it you have finished it.
*please note that these books contain content not suitable for younger readers*”

“Book 5 in Michele Bardsley had some serious undertones dealing with the main character Simone having survived domestic abuse from her first husband. She resettles in Broken Heart Oklahoma with her 6 year old daughter Glory, only to be turned into one of the newly Undead. She has a secret that she is afraid that might make people want to turn her away from their new home.
Braddock Hayes has settled into town after 3 of his agents from the Preternatural team he heads settled down there and he discovered a reason of his own to stay when he develops an attraction to the vampire mechanic Simone. He also has some dark secrets of his own, and both of their pasts come back to haunt them in a way that puts the whole town at risk!
This was another page turner to enjoy! I really wanted things to work out for Simone and Brady, and hated the bad guys with a passion! Love it when authors make me care about the characters in their stories, and Michele Bardsley does that for me!”
