As a Sookie/Eric fan I found this book fantastic. There is great S/E interaction and one scene can only be described as "hottest of the hottest". There are also very romantic and tender moments between the two of them; something I really liked. It felt very real.

I've read all of the books in this series. I can't help but be honest and say I think it does need to end. While I enjoyed the first few books quite a lot, it seems that the characters are going in directions that I don't find believable. I really enjoy Ms. Harris style... she is a talent. I...

The ninth complete book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (there are a multitude of short stories as well), this one leaves us with a dissatisfying end and frustration on top of it. If Charlaine Harris is only going to publish one of these a year then she should make them at least three times as long. I can't get enough of this vampire series.

My feelings about this series are mixed...I enjoy the Sookie-Eric byplay, but I find that is about the only thing that I have enjoyed at all in these last few books. Harris, is a mediocre writer, with minimal character development and predictable plots, but I find that my desire for Sookie and Eric to be happy together somehow outweighs all of Harris's flaws as a writer. Nice, light read...these books are more quirky/funny vampire books then the dark True Blood series that is based off of them and I find that now that I read the books, I am more excited to see how the series writers will enhance Harris's storyline to the level that the first two seasons have been.

War has broken out between the fairies and Sookie lands smack in the middle of it. Niall, her grandfather, is a prince of Faerie. He is at war with Breandon, another Fairy Prince to whom humans are vile, and disgusting creatures. Breandon wants to seal the doorways between the worlds and is willing to go to war to do it. Learning of Sookie’s existence, Breandon is willing to use all his powers to capture her so he can force her grandfather to his will. Meanwhile, Jason is in trouble again. His shape shifting Wife, Crystal, has been found nailed to a cross behind Merlotte’s Bar. Since she was a cheating, selfish, and egotistical wife, Sookie must find out if her death is related to the Fairy War or is indicative of yet another problem in Bon Temps.

I've read this entire series and loved it. Good writing with fun characters, settings and plots. I'm reading some of her other books now.

Book #8 starts out with the Weres announcing their existance to the world. What starts out OK, ends the next morning Jason's x-wife, a were panther, found murdered and nailed to a cross in Merlotte's parking lot. Of course Jason is the prime suspect, but then Sookie has a viscious fairy prince hot on her trail, determined to kill her.

This is a dark book, lacking in the humor that was ever present in former Sookie books. It advances the story line, but also leaves you with a lot of questions. Eric "claims" Sookie as his, but with the brutal ending, you have to wonder what is next for Sookie and Bill.
