First, I LOVE, LOVE Eric! I love Eric and Sookie together so much! There is no doubt in my mind that they belong together, and when he says, "You're killing me," I just felt my heart break for him.

Second, now that I have finished all the books, I feel "bereft" ..... lol. What can I read now that will fill the void????

I only keep reading these hoping Sookie gets back with Bill. Book 1 presented Bill well and we fell in love with him. Ms. Harris....tons of us are hopelessly awaiting their undying love to return......

So I have read the entire series, and I was a little bit disappointed by this last book. It felt like she rushed through the story and left out a lot of details that Ms. Harris normally would include. But I am still a huge fan and will go out and buy the next one.

Charlaine's site had a brief blurb about 10 that got pulled down, she said that Sookie settles down with Eric. There is no doubt that's who her gr.grandaddy is speaking of when he says Vampire. We just have to hold our breath till May :(

So I finished the series of books and it looks like I am not the only one left salavating for more. I think the love Sookie renews for Bill isn't romantic I think she has just found a way to forgive him. I do wonder about her and Eric...as much as I would like to see them together I just don't see it happening. Dead and Gone was rushed leaving a few gaps and unanswered questions but maybe the next will get us caught up. I don't think "A Touch of Dead" will be the next in the series I think it will be more a pacifier while Ms Harris gets the creative juices flowing. Anyway...just my thoughts

The book was great! I really liked it. There could have been more details..that would have made the book feel more complete. The end of the book gives so much foreshadowing for the next book in the series. I have a lot of ideas to what the last 50 pages of the book mean.

I feel that Eric wasn't around because he was working on ending/lessening their blood bond. Also Niall only calls one vampire in the book Vampire at all and that would be Eric. Niall found Eric because of the blood bond with Sookie and then used Eric to set up the introductions. Also with Hunter (Sookies nephew), the meantion of him I feel is to set up the other book. Sookie wants a husband and child. She could easily have that if say Hunter's dad died, hint hint. Its a lot of speculation on my part but it's fun.

Since the third blood exchange everytime she is anywhere near Eric she knows it asap. After she is rescued she doesn't even know that he is in the building or that he was about to walk into the door, Claudine told her.

The next book "A Touch of Dead" is a book of short stories that deal with Sookie and her world.

I agree with what's being said, but what I see missing that nobody has mentioned is the little boy who is related to Sookie. It seems like that could have played out a little more. Once again, what happened to Bubba? Did they get to him also. Why didn't Niall mention anything about the double blow when Claudette died? There doesn't seem to be much worry about the amount of blood Sookie is taking from Eric, exactly how close is she to turning?

Now that you mentioned it, the book is choppy. Niall decides to kiss Jason goodbye also, he tells Sookie that the vampire was good, but not which one. Why didn't Sookie or anyone else call Alcide when they first realized something was wrong with Tray? Why do we never get to know the amounts of money the vamps pay Sookie?

I suppose all of this leaves the door wide open for whatever Charlaine Harris has coming up in the next part of the series. Is it going to come out in October? If so, that's pretty fast writing, especially considering the writing she has done for her other series' this year. I'm not sure I'd be sold on it being CH's own work.

totally agree with what you said below... the book really didn't go into much details when it was needed, but still it was a good book. Didn't like how it just leaves you hanging at the end... must be building up for the next one. Some parts i had to reread just so i could see if i might of missed something, just more details were needed. It doesn't even mention Quinn much after that one scene, I thought it was messed up that eric tricked sookie into giving the knife to confirm their bond/connection/marriage? what does it really mean? are they married or not? I do agree that eric would be a better choice for sookie, he's honest and up front about things he says to her. bill would be better as a good friend and neighbor. (honestly if i were sookie it'd be a no brainer... i'd go with the gorgeous viking vampire) but with how all the books go, and now with the show true blood, will all this play out in the shows eventually? for example will eric and sookie fall in love on the show like they do in the books? really hope so, eric on the show is gorgeous! they really picked the right guy when they got alexander skarsgard for the part. back to the book tho, hopefully the next one will clear up alot of loose ends from this one.
