This story follows two young boys, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, throughout their adventures along the Mississippi River back in the 1800's. The story is very descriptive about the River and their adventures but can use inappropiate language for some people. I think this book is very good to give students a feel of how life was in the 1800's and can be beneficial to them. I would use this in my class and after watch the disney movie and have the students write a compare and contrast essay on the book and the movie.

II picked this book because I think its great piece of literature and I really think this should be something students read about. The relationship and the problems that these two boys get into I think would be great for kids to read about and get wrapped up in.
I would use this as a way to introduce the topic of slavery. And talk to the students about that and what it means and why people were treated this way and how terrible it was. I would also use a character plot have them describe all the different characters that they run into and how they act and the characteristics about them. Have them make a shoe box of what they thought was the most interesting part of the story with that scenery and have them share with the rest of the class as well. After reading the book also we would watch the movie and compare and contrast the differences between the book and the movie and talk about which one we liked best.

This book was not one of my favorites ,but yes it was good.It is one mis boy who trys a lot of things to get out of doing something. He does things that any other kid would do.He does things that are usally not very smart like when he went off to be a pirate with Huck and Joe and was missing for a while.Aunt Polly was of course almost losing her head of how much she missed Tom.Tom does alot more things that scare Aunt Polly ,but Tom of course is just a boy.

I think the story of "the adventures of tom sawyer "was a great book, very entertaining. It took tom sawyer on various childhood adventures in which he experiences adrenaline ,romance ,fear ,demonstrates, courage ,sneakiness,s and cleverness to solve his problems. He along with his friend huckleberry Finn,an out casted child, have numerous adventures due to curiosity. This book served not only as entertainment for us ,but also a reminder of our childhood and what children see and experience.
